na asszem akkor én lépek is erről a kurzusról lesz talán ennél jobb is.
Update on today's and future labs
Dear students --
As you all know by now, the lab software malfunctioned at the start of today's session, and we were not able to carry out Lab 1 as planned.
I want to express my apologies to everyone who reserved valuable time to participate in the lab, especially to those from overseas who woke up at odd hours for the experiment, and to those who took time away from children and family. As a father of two small children who often works overnight, I understand who invaluable your time is.
I also owe you an explanation of what happened. A team of several people has been working for months creating the software associated with the labs. We have invested thousands of hours and a lot of resources on this because we believe that, once the technology is ready, it will provide a first-of-a-kind hands-on educational tool for learning basic economics through on-line courses. The required technologies to pull this off are novel and complicated and for a while we debated whether to include the lab component with the first edition of this course, or wait a few months to the second edition. Encouraged by early testing we decided to go ahead because we were eager to provide you with the best possible educational experience. Clearly, today's events demonstrate that the technology is not ready yet. We will keep working to deploy the labs in future versions of the course, but we cannot risk wasting more of your time in the short-run.
Where does that leave us? I'm canceling the lab component of the course for the rest of the class. All other components of the course will proceed as before.

...
Since the lab is an attractive part of the course, some of you will probably decide to drop the course. For those of you that decide to stay, the TAs and myself look forward to keep working with you in the video lectures, problem sets and quizzes, and discussion forums.
Sincerely,
Prof. Antonio Rangel
